As part of the Autocentre Group, we’re a trusted, family-run independent garage with decades of experience in MOT testing, servicing, repairs, and auto-electrical work. Growing from a single site to multiple locations across Hampshire has strengthened our buying power, allowing us to keep prices competitive — while our customer-first approach continues to set us apart from other local garages.
Our History
We opened the first garage in our network over 20 years ago on Essex Road in Basingstoke. Early on, we invested heavily in modern diagnostic equipment, advanced staff training, and full computerisation to meet the growing demands of modern vehicles. This forward-thinking approach helped us build a strong local reputation and grow into one of Basingstoke’s leading autocentres, proudly rebranding as Basingstoke Autocentre. As demand increased, we expanded into larger premises, opening Lennox Road MOT & Tyre Centre in 2002, followed by Wade Road MOT & Tyre Centre to continue delivering expert service and great value.
In 2012, we extended our successful model beyond Basingstoke with the launch of Farnborough Value Tyres, followed by Winchester Value Tyres—our fifth Hampshire location—in 2016. These have since developed into Winchester MOT & Tyre Centre and Farnborough MOT & Tyre Centre, strengthening our commitment to professional service, competitive pricing, and trusted local expertise.

Our Staff
At Farnborough MOT & Tyre Centre, all of our MOT testers are fully trained, authorised, and regulated by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), ensuring every MOT is carried out in line with strict national standards. Your vehicle is inspected by a qualified professional who is independently accountable for the accuracy, fairness, and integrity of every test performed.
To maintain these high standards, our testers are subject to regular unannounced inspections and mystery shopper assessments throughout the year. These ongoing audits ensure full compliance and consistency, giving you complete confidence that your MOT in Farnborough is conducted professionally, transparently, and without compromise.
Warranty & Guarantees
Our nationwide guarantee is provided through our affiliation with Unipart Automotive and Alliance Autocentres, a British Standards Institution (BSI) Kitemark-approved network. This membership means that any eligible warranty repairs can be carried out free of charge at over 1,300 Unipart Car Care Centres across the UK — all of which operate under a strict customer service pledge.
All of our tyres are EU-approved and sourced directly within the UK, ensuring quality and compliance. For added peace of mind, we provide a comprehensive guarantee — replacing any tyre found to have a manufacturing or material defect with a brand-new equivalent for up to three years, regardless of remaining tread depth or mileage covered.
All of our service and repair work using parts supplied and fitted by ourselves comes with a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty (whichever comes first). We are also proud to be registered with The Motor Ombudsman, reinforcing our commitment to high standards, transparency, and fair customer service.
Environmental
At Farnborough MOT & Tyre Centre, we take our environmental responsibilities seriously and actively work to minimise our impact wherever possible. All used oil and filters are handled and disposed of in full accordance with environmental regulations, and we are fully licensed to store waste oil safely for recycling. Every waste tyre is responsibly recycled, helping to reduce landfill and promote material reuse.
